It's useless for telephone use, but it's of interest to some collectors, being part of central office switching equipment.

Its a uniselector these were used on the customers line each one had his own and when he lifted the receiver to make a call the wipers would be driven around the the outlets to find a free first code selector this was a 2 motion type [strowger] and the call was then set up. Many hours spent on cleaning these in my younger days. hope this helps
