I meant to post a photo of the markings on the ringer. Is this typical Kellogg markings ?

I have not tried yet, but I assume a WE dial ring might fit this... ?

Yes it will fit.  Nice looking phone and for only $15.

Here's one I rescued from the trash a few years ago.

Dennis that really is quite a nice refurb. Good job!

Thank you MDK and Doug for the compliments on the refurbishing job I did on the DK500.  It was a fun project.

It's been awhile since I worked on the Banjo. I took it apart and isolated thr ringer. I can call out, and receive calls with the ringer completely disconnected.
Maybe someone can give me some resistance readings, wire to wire, on the ringer. I have listed what I get with several combinations.

I have The following..

Red to Gray-920 ohms
Gray/Red to Black-2690
Red to Black-open
Gray/Red to Gray-3610
Gray/Red to Red-920
Black to Gray- 920
Gray/Red to Red-2690

All in Ohms.
Dan

It doesn't seem logical that red to black measures open while every other combination has some resistance measurement.  Are you sure of that measurement?

Bill;
Yes that reading is correct.

The Gray/Red to Red is 280, I incorrectly listed it twice.
Eliminating The duplicate Red to Red/Gray, I think that's all possible combinations.

On the 200 ohm scale, I get 6 ohms Red to black..
I took reading from other coils. the coil is completely shorted.

Connect as follows, and it should work right:

Slate-Red to L2
Slate to A
Jumper between L1 and K

Individually tape and store the red and black leads

This is based on the measurements you have given.  It puts the 3610-ohm winding in series with the capacitor in the network which is connected to A and K.

I found a coil from a 54 W.E. 500. So I swapped the coil out. It works perfectly.
