Dan Mack(enzie) ran Telephone Repair and Supply in Chicago, I believe. He made phones out of used parts and new wooden parts for resale.

I can't say for certain if this was one of his - perhaps some will know how to be certain. That question is answered - see paul-f's message below!

That set was covered in an article in the June 2008 Singing Wires.

It's a Suttle Tablephone by the Suttle Equipment Co.  Original price was about $17 - 18, depending on features. Wall models were also available.

Anybody know where I can get a clean copy of the Suttle Equipment Ad show here?

There are some full page copies of pages from a Suttle catalog (using the same photo) in the June 2008 Singing Wires -- viewable from the TCI Members' area.

The photo above was harvested from an ebay auction.

I have to say I much prefer this type of "upcycling" of old phone parts.  I really like the art-deco style of the cabinets.
The idea that a four-year degree is the only path to worthwhile knowledge is insane.

The issue is currently available as a sample Singing Wires issue from the TCI site.

Hi all

This is my first post...One of the reasons I joined the forum, was to find out what type of phone I have.  It turns out to be a Suttle!

Pictures attached.  Please note, the Workman 13 and the Inspector 26 are the same as above.  The date, however is 4-23-1940.

Thanks
