Should I buy a spare Apple SE?

This week Apple announced the iphone SE will be discontinued.  I currently have one that is 3 years old and love the size and features.  The larger models are bulky and I really like the compact size of the SE.

Considering buying one of the new locked SE units for Verizon, my carrier, as a spare.

Anyone have any thoughts, suggestions....

I have had very good success buying nice used IPhones on swappa.com.  This is an EBay-like marketplace for smartphones which has a feedback score for sellers. (listing are BIN, not auction). It seems to be well-run.  We've bought 4 phones so far, and there are plenty to choose from.   You can search on model, carrier and features like memory capacity and even color.  Just a thought that you might consider waiting until a replacement is needed instead of spending the money now without a known need.
