This has been #1 on my Want List for a long, long time. I have ZERO knowledge on these.

I think this was a refurb in progress when someone stopped for whatever reason, but it was more than on its way.

It is very heavy as it should be. Handset is not correct, but matches well. I will have to try to fix some wrong screws and nuts showing but that is minor. Most has been re-nickeled, but surprisingly under the cradle is still brass. I might paint it black, for now it stays the way it is.

The is no bell motor and of course no clapper, looks like that was next on the list to be added.

The handset cord matches the line cord, screws were tough to move and I did not want to damage the nickel.

These usually go over $1200 and the Refurb Model on the touchtone base goes for over $600, so I took a gamble.

It displays well, which is what I wanted. With my very limited knowledge on these Phones, I took a shot. ...Doug

Well done Doug - looks like a nice example. That handset is a really good match. Hard to tell if original as these were manufactured into the 1930s so may just be a late version.
I have a GPO version (Tele No 16), with no chrome and no tear-drops on the cradle in their typically conservative style of the period. Not nearly as pretty but still a lovely phone.

Thanks for adding that link, just what I have been looking for.  :)

Tubaman, do you have a thread for yours, with a photo?

These models are in my top three. A handsome phone.

There are lots of variations of these phones, and until Tubaman posted the research link. There wasn't a good source of information regarding them.

I have had 2, I still have 1 .  I have had it for over 20 years, it was  on display for 15 years. I moved in 2012 and never have had it displayed at this house.
I would consider  selling or trading my set.

That looks like one of Dave Dockray's documents - is it?

I don't know, but it's certainly written in his style.
There is another useful bit of information on his site (http://www.telephonetalk.com.au/index.htm), showing how to correctly lift one of these - ie NOT by the cradle - http://www.telephonetalk.com.au/images/ForSale2007MHTML/page1/SkeletonDONT.htm

It is, his name is in the metadata - that solves that.

I have the one with the red button/short turret like the one on the linked site.
I took mine apart to reverse engineer the wiring. There is no induction coil in it. The coil is external to the phone. I have a later enclosed version of the Ericsson with the red button and the coil is in the round thing with all the terminals.
