Found this on eBay anyone know what it would have been used for?

I have no idea, but the handset is a G5 not 65

I just copied what was there, I have no idea what it is or used for either.

I believe part of it is a Western Electric 47a control unit, an early mobile car phone.  I have never seen it in red. It might be painted. Is is sitting on some sort of box, maybe homemade.
