Post by: HarrySmith on March 15, 2019, 01:10:28 PM
Another nice one Doug!
I came across a strange looking Signal Corps phone the other day. Looks like it is marked A 166U. On eBay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/202622767035

Thanks Harry....I have been after one for awhile.

The one you posted can be used as a wall phone, screws go through the feet or a desk phone. It is also a very cool.design...Doug

I thought it was a wall phone at first until I saw the feet. Guess it's a convertible. Pretty cool design.

Those sets will mount on the wall. You can rotate the dial around. These sets have micro switches for hook switches and they can fail. The dial opening is non standard so if the shroud is broken or missing good luck. The non dial sets should have the shroud hidden under the dial blank. The handset is poor quality plastic and hard to buff . At COT we chrome plated them
