I have a Trimline with problems, but there are no screws in the baseplate; only rivets.
How do I get the cover off?

The screws are hiding under a plastic panel with a logo or a window for telephone numbers

That little plastic piece....

It has a little hole on one side that you can insert a paper clip end to bow it up in the middle to then be able to pull it off.  BE CAREFUL not to bow it any more than needed.  The plastic can be a little brittle after all these years and if it breaks, you will need a new one, and I don't think they are all that plentiful.

.... Or use a KS 21107 L1 Releaser tool  (see DavePEI's post from earlier today)

Today's paper clips are pretty wimpy.Use a vintage paper clip or the large size all metal paperclip.

To replace the screw cover, I drop itr in a glass of hot tap water for about a minute, then I pop it in while it is warm. On WE trimlines you can use a clear number card cover to replace a broken screw cover.

Sorry about the slow response. X-Mas shopping, etc.

I tried the paper clip trick on the plastic cover and it popped
right off, revealing the screws. Alas, when I got inside there were
several unattached wires, plus missing screws and parts.

I have some other Trimlines, so I'll have to open up one of
them to see what is missing. Thanks for all your advice.

I'm not to good at posting photos, but I'm working on it and I
will have some interesting stuff in the near future.
