Loud clicks when dialing a 500.

It otherwise functions, but on return it makes loud clicks in the receiver which I know isn't right, but not sure what's causing it.  The dial tone becomes fainter, but doesn't completely go away when I turn the dial clockwise.  A picture and a vid of the dial action:

Make sure that the contacts which are connected to the two white wires on the dial are making a good connection when the dial is turned from its rest position.  You can stick a screwdriver between the contacts to temporarily shirt them together and listen for a dial tone.  The dial tone should be inaudible.  If that is not the case, then check the other ends of the white wires.  You might need to clean the spade terminals.
