Are you sure this is brown? I thought they were only made in black!

It looks brown, and the seller states so.  I have never seen them in brown before, but I have been impressed how nice brown bakelite may look at pictures.  Not actual for me to buy, and pay $ 100 in shipping to Norway.

The Select-O-Phone version was made in both brown and black.

I see 1000-series Select-O-Phones in about equal proportion in brown and black.  I believe the 1000-series Select-O-Phone was in fact first made in brown, and later in black. There were a few just recently on eBay.  Here is one that just got relisted: http://www.ebay.com/itm/301571070622

Keep in mind that these are Select-O-Phones and will not work on a standard phone line.
