Hey Guys
Its not classic or rotary but interesting none the less-this is a BT Viscount rebadged for the Independant Hull City Council Telephone Department( Now known as Kcom and no longer council owned). Hull has never had a Post Office/BT presence as the system operates under a seperate licence. A side effect of this is although the K6 and K8 kiosks are of the same pattern as the GPO versions they are painted Cream not Red and in the case of the K6s carry no Crowns. Hull is the last outpost of the K8 in the UK - the council didnt rip them all out likre BT did!

I was going to buy that very one!!! :D

I've yet to get a viscount with the light grey buttons & cables... :D

It was indeed that one :)
I have a BT version but its somewhat discoloured :(
Its odd not seeing British Telecom under the handset !

So what's on the little insert next to the recall button, or is it just a blank insert? Can't make it out on the ebay photos... :D

Shame they didn't customise it with a Hull telephone logo or something... :D

Mr. Bones

Seamus,

Next time you and the dog are outside for a romp, I would just love to see the cream-coloured K6 and K8 kiosks. Some pics would favourite. Thanks!

Best regards!
Sláinte!

I thought this thread was going to be a joke about Lucius Cary.
Annoying new poster.

Lucius Cary went in 1984, as a Social Democrat, and then changed to a Liberal Democrat.  He's not your typical Viscount, and finally decided to be a crossbencher non-party political peer.
Annoying new poster.
