I asked the seller to look at the mount and date on the housing.

Seller replied saying "It clearly says H3 and the date on the front is 3/8/49"

Seller said he would update the listing but with 2 bids now, not sure how much he can change, but he can add the above to the description as an addendum to it.

Proof?

After seeing that number quoted, I looked back at all auction contests and found there were 7 dark blue 302s in the archives, they sold from $690 to $2,550, price based on condition of course.

Payphone installer said the last time it sold it went for $4,000 but I have no record of that. I do not have a record of that sale so if Payphone installer has the listing/sale info and can post it, that would be a good fact to know for guessing in this contest.

The eBay seller in a message to me said he "Watched one go for $2,300.00 several years ago. My wife did not want to sell hers at that that time." So, from that, I have to assume that this contest phone is something other that the one Payphone Installer posted about. From the above seller message, it seems the seller's wife had the phone for awhile.

Just what I know.
