I won this on ebay for a $10 offer and 10.23 Shipping. Don't ask why, I thought it was cool and I would give it a shot. Four hours later the paint is mostly off and most of the rust is gone. There are still some corrosion marks. Dummy handset for pics

Any idea where I can find a retainer for the bottom blank.

Still a lot more to do, good news is there was a PERFECT handset cord on this mess. Transmitter was crushed as was the transmitter cup, but the brass plate is fine.

I always loved the design of these.  Not up to what I would keep as a naked phone....I see paint in the future...Doug

Since it did polish up well and I do not paint, I will keep it as is. It is a toughie to find and I do not want to ruin it.

You could spray it with clear coat, keep the metal looking nice no rusting or other oxidizing.
