SC wooden box phone?

Saw this on iOffer.  Off hand, what it looks like to me is ordinary desk phone parts put into a recently made wood box and a fancy plate attached to it, i.e. it wasn't made that way.  Right or wrong?  Either way, it looks "frankenphone-ish".

Solid Oak Wood Vintage Stromberg-Carlson S-C G3 Telephone and Telegraph Company Rotary Phone. The phone works great. It has a nice bell ring to it. Good sound. The phone is made of solid oak wood. The phone might be from the late 50's. That is what the seller told me. The phone measures about 11" in length  X 7" in depth X 6" in height. The front metal plaque reads: CDD TELEPHONE & TELEGRAPH Co. San Diego, California. The phone weighs close to 8 pounds.
