I was always under the impression that there were only two different 302 base styles..but this morning it dawned on me that I had 3 metal 302's with 3 different bases..a 1937 with no depression for the condenser, a 1939 with a small depression where the condensers leads are, and then a 1941 with the full length depression for the condenser.  Were there other variations?

From left to right: 1941, 1939, 1937 302...all metal cases

Not so fast, Jeff.  Here is the bottom of my 1938 302.  The bottom of my 1937 looks the same as yours.

Interesting..your 1938 base plate is nearly the same as my 1939 but yours has the earlier mounting style for the ringer and the network.

The base of the later 1940s 302s is a bit different than any of these.

The bases of a 1949 304 and a  1950/51 ivory 302 that I have are both the same as the 1941 one pictured above.   As one might figure, they both have plastic cases.

I am looking for a 1937 small plunger 302. Preferably w/o vents The guts need to be compleate. The housing can be trashed.
I am going to use it as guts on a clear small plunger 302 housing I have.

The housing is clear or the plungers are?

The housing, It must be transparent aluminum since they only made the small plunger sets in metal  :D

"Transparent aluminum"
That's how they made the aquarium to transport the whales in Star Trek IV.

It couldn't have been transparent aluminum since it wasn't invented till 1986. ;) I'm surprised no one has yet said, "POIDH". :D

Seriously, though, I do want to see this. I'm not a clear freak like some, but I do find it fascinating. :)
