Getting a stuck receiver end off AE 1A

Be careful with the diaphragm (the thin metal disc).  If it is rusty, gently clean off the rust, but do not bend it, or your receiver may not work very well.  Soaking it in CLR might be helpful.

                  Don't get too rough with the two coils inside that cup. If you break the fine wire on it, it  won't work anymore. I wouldn't get it wet either.    stub

I would carefully clean what I could with cotton swabs or something.  The top surface of the receiver capsule should be clean and flat so that the diaphragm can sit properly on it.  The same applies to the inside surface of the receiver cap.  Any dirt or bumps will affect the ability of the diaphragm to vibrate properly.

Thank you so much for your help--I think I'll wash the diaphram carefully, but just try to dust off the other parts....
