Not sure about that phone at all. I don't think they used plastic or vinyl coated wires in 1890. Strange looking insides on that dial?

I agree with Greg. The plastic wiring was never used on old wood phones. Also the case front has sharp 90 degree edges. All the wood boxes in my collection have rounded corners.  The wood boxes were made at a time when true craftsmen did the woodworking. This may have a project a long time ago, say the 50's. Just too many red flags, makes me think It is  not all original.
