I bought this as a dial center cap.  It's too big for that, but it does fit over a candlestick mouthpiece almost perfectly.  Anybody ever seen one before?

.....

Now that is a neat piece, I have never seen one before. Great find!

Wow, that is cool. I have not seen anything like it my self, was it that shiny when you got it? Is it flimsy, or a decent type of stamping?
I wonder if its a one of a kind type thing??

That's exactly how I got it.  If I had to describe it, I'd compare it to a Copenhagen lid. Maybe a little thicker.

There were tissue paper filters made for transmitter horns  for germ reduction ,
If the cover fits tight to the horn, and vibrates, it could be for germ reduction, Boil as needed.
It is a cool find at a nice price.

Interesting that it fits a mouthpiece -- but I'm sure that's a coincidence.

The Indianapolis plant was in operation from 1948 to 1986.

Any other guesses?

I agree, pure coincidence.  It fits to tight.  I did hope it was right for a dial center cover though.  It would look perfect on a 302.
Hopefully somebody will know what it was actually for.

You've made me blush!
The star is very nice - I think I might print it and put in on the mantelpiece.  :)
