Hello all,
I was looking at local market place here, and found this switch made my L.M. Ericsson.
Could anyone identify this switch? Is this for telephones or electricity?
I once saw an Ericsson catalogs from the 1930s, they also had clocks, electricity tools, etc.
This switch looks from earlier era, like 70/80s
Not a power switch for sure. More likely telephone related, or any other low voltage signal application.
Those was used in 2 versions. 2 phones in the same house, and you may select witch should be connected to the line. Alternative 2 had a mid position with both phones connected.
Pretty common here in Norway in the old days.
So, basically a phone line DPDT (or TPDT) toggle switch and then the same thing with Center Off?

Ooh yes it makes sense.. There are 6 screws in it, 2 for phone line, and 2 for other two telephones.
I think I will get some and try in with my telephones.

You could wire one as a polarity reversal switch.
European version of the WE 6000 series transfer switches.....

Yes.. @dsk was right. I bought three of them last month and tried them already 8)
bolts 1 = telephone network line
bolts 2 = telephone equipment #1
bolts 3 = telephone equipment #2
for each bolt pair: red (positive) on the left
This switch only allows one telephone to ring/be connected at one time.
If not connected, we cannot use the telephone (no dial tone)
When it rings, we can 'transfer' by moving the switch to the other telephone, or during conversation as well -- but the other party must be ready to lift the receiver or lifted the receiver already.
This is a good device to prevent eavesdropping in two parallel phones ;D
