New and not so new forum members are very welcome and encouraged to take a guess. There are no wrong guesses, just one lucky guess. No one knows the winning bid on any auction until it ends. However, it is important to get your guess in before someone else grabs your guess.

Thanks to Jim Stettler for asking for this contest.

New guesses must be at least $25.00 away from any prior guess.

Everyone is entitled to one (1) guess revision as long as it is posted in a reply at least 24 hours prior to the eBay auction ending.

Seller Description:  "This is a very early Western Electric number 10 telephone with scarce long-pole receiver and 7-digit transmitter. I acquired this from noted collector Walt Aydelotte in 2002; he had restored it within the year prior. The nickel on the transmitter is original. The rest of the phone was re-nickeled, however after nearly 20 years of natural aging it now looks entirely age-appropriate and matches beautifully with the nickel on the transmitter. It looks very authentic. The hook switch may be a reproduction but if so it's hard to tell. The bottom cover is an excellent replica, and the cord is replaced. The "Red Cross" glass mouthpiece is an exact reproduction made by John Infurna. -- The receiver is unmarked, no manufacturer's name. The 'shoulder' of the receiver looks to be a replacement made of Delrin, which has faded slightly. There is a very tight repaired crack on the side of the receiver, not noticeable except under very close examination. -- This is not a perfect phone but it displays beautifully and is a noteworthy example of a very rare early telephone."

This is started as a "special rules" no winner contest, the best guesser will not be included in the CRPF Auction Contest Hall of Fame or be counted in the CRPF Contest Standings as a win. This one is just for fun, but the best guesser will take a place in the Special Auction Contest Standings.
