Is the 308 system smaller and lighter then the 606?

Can any 616 system proprietary phone be used to program the 616 or just certain model/s?

I wonder how much power it uses?

Physically they're the same size/footprint, not sure about the weight though, presumably the 308 is a little lighter having less hardware in it...

I think a few phones can be used to program the 308 and 616 (presumably 1232 too), mine's a KX-T7130E, but the manual calls for a KX-T61630 programming phone, so long as it's labelled "Hybrid System" I believe it should work fine... :)

The 308 will undoubtedly use less power than the 616, but I'm not too sure on how much the 616 uses anyway... ;D

Probably want to make sure the proprietary phone has a display.

KX-T30810:  5.0 kg;   max. 40 W (120 VAC, 0.4 A)
KX-T61610:  7.2 kg;   max. 65 W (120 VAC, 0.7 A)

The housing of both is identical in dimensions.

Per manual, the standard programming telephone for both models is the KX-T30830, other early phones (without LCD) cannot be used, but later ones can (e.g., KX-T7030).

The actual power consumption is totally dependent on configuration and usage. SLT phones of course do not draw any current when not in use, but Panasonic proprietary phones do always.  IIRC, I measured power consumption with no proprietary phones connected to be less than 4W.
