Title: Black 500 that wasn't in my computer inventory.
Post by: Greg G. on February 25, 2018, 02:26:00 PM
Starting a project of thinning the herd (more on that later in a different thread), but I found a phone I did not have in my pictorial inventory, nor can I find anything about it here (but I may be wrong and the post is here somewhere, I just couldn't find it).  I usually post all my finds, with pictures, that's half the fun and serves the purpose of creating an inventory.

From what I found here, apparently the GA-51859 is a military designation.  The phone is in very good shape with some minor rust around one foot.  All the dates are from 62, except or the receiver element.  For some reason they gave it a 53.

Thought they used those small ribbed round feet in '62?

I forgot about the markings on the back of the shell case.  Actually, it says both, Signal Corps US Army Telephone Set TA-236/FT  Western Electric.
