Title: AE Extensicords With Bad Elastic
Post by: magicbrain on November 20, 2018, 09:52:03 PM
Has anyone tried replacing the elastic in the AE Extensicords?

The used ones can sometimes be bought for a lot less then the NOS ones, but the elastic(if that is what it is) is always bad.

They can be used as is, but it would nice to be able to restore the stretch to them.

Good question. I've always wanted one of those for some of my AE's but even the NOS ones, at their high prices, stand the chance of the elastic being dried up and brittle. So far, I've resisted the urge to put a $80.00 cord on a $50.00 phone.

Ray Kotke "Kleenax" has made extensicords from scratch so he likely can provide info on redoing the elastic in them.
