I didn't know where else to put this so I figure this place would be safe.
I've been seeing these off an on for awhile now and may not have even noticed them before
but, they seem out of place considering the rest of the internals. For the lack of the proper word
I call them a "Double Contact Hook Switch". It seems to have one extra contact then the normal
WE 302 hook switch does and I haven't a clue why it's there or its purpose.
Anyone got an answer?

I can't find the phone now but, if memory serves me right it was a 302, either way it was certainly a 300 series and that doesn't explain to me why its there and what its purpose is. As I remember there wasn't anything different except the hook-switch and the 101B induction coil..

These were used on many models in the 300 and 400 series sets.Usefull when adding a lead control to a 302 with an external line selector on a i 1a2 system

Usually the components you described are found in H3/304 phones.  These phones were set up for some sort of tip party identification. They also had a 4 wire ringer. Some times these phones could be set up as a regular 302 type with the extra contacts being used for A-lead control in a PBX.

Find some BSP numbers to research the components and wiring here:

Okay, I reckon I get it. It's a WE303 and the secondary hook switch can be hook to a separate line, least that's what I got out of it. I'm not much of a reader when it comes to these, lousy comprehension but, it's okay. As long as I don't have one it don't matter, LOL!

But the presence of a 101B induction coil suggests it's probably a 304. Have you checked for a H3 mounting code?

This is from a 304, not a 302.  Ditto for the 101B coil.  These phones allowed Message Rate Ticketing.
