When I got the W.E 500, just put it at my 14 yrs old son's room, and after a while ha asked for something more modern. :-\
I found a pushbutton phone with a lot of possibilities, and he got a manual for how to program this and that.

"Daddy can I get back the old phone, it rings, and it doesent fall dawn from the table when I lift off the handset"  :D

Best regards from a happy and a little proud father  ;D

Heh, right on!

Yes, the way to subvert the modern phone habit is to just stealthily provide one of the old ones around where people can use it.  "Wow, the receiver fits on my ear and I can hold it on my shoulder!" and "Holy cow, I can actually hear what people are saying!"

I've tended to find that if I can come up with an excuse to put a 2500-set on a client's site (amidst all of their digital desk sets), people will start asking for them.  I don't make money on those but it's nice to spread the meme.
