Title: WANTED - WE Number card holders
Post by: Pourme on January 22, 2018, 08:49:49 AM
~

It's always a delicate balance when buying 302's cleaning them up and restoring them back to use. More often than not the number card holder on the metal finger wheel has been lost and is not present. So far I have done ok having card holders for my finished phones. I have even paid $12.95 plus shipping for the chrome version with dial card and clear lens.

The time has come when I must ask....Does anyone have a box with some of these rings he/she would be willing to sell? I have number cards and a few celluloid discs, even some of the retainer discs, but I am out of the rings themselves.

Maybe you know where I can buy some?

Thanks!

Benny

I have a few that I would sell Benny. Ironically, I have more chrome ones than black! $5/each

Ben, OPW has them... I'm always having to buy them... I also stock up on dial center cards and plastic windows.... as for the rings.... I buy as needed.... don't do much restoring right now.... have too many 300 series phones... seems like that's all I was catching for awhile...

Thanks Kleenax & Babybearjs I have dug deep and scraped up enough to get by for right now. I will keep these in mind as I continue to need more!

More and more phones are being offered without card holders...

good luck Ben on your phones... just remember....OPW has all the parts you'll ever need for the 300 and 400 series phones, except the inside accessories and designation windows on the 400 series... (I wish they had them though...) dial cards, plastic windows and card center frames #5 and #6 face plates and fingerwheels are pretty much all that's left for dial parts... (that they carry) but its the handset and line cords that everyone needs... those wear out with time... and I've had the stain reliefs fail and the handset cords too... (damned cloth cords...)its fun restoring the 300 series.... so simple, one could do it blindfolded....

I have LOTS of AE card holders & finger-wheels if anyone is in need.
Also have a virtual "plethora" of original AE/Kellogg number cards too. Actually, probably enough to fill a shoebox.

Hey Ray.... what happened to your website? the link just went to a go daddy advert page....

GoDaddy updated their server software, and my hosting plan was due for renewal ($145), and it no longer will support my "ancient" MS-Frontpage website creation, so I had them blow it away. Gives me the push I need to do a new one! I have it backed up here at home so I still have the content that I will re-use when I rebuild it.
GoDaddy has a new website building toolkit, and it's included with their hosting plan, so I will do that when I get the gumption ;-)
