Found this WE 660 A1 card dialer this morning. The seller also had more telephones such as a AE type 183 in white and an AE type 90m in light green but I did not buy them. The warped card was included.

They came down to $20.00 from $28.00. It does need a good cleaning and the transformer is missing. No Bell System markings on the handset, just Western Electric.

How exactly did the cards work?  Were they primitive speed dialers?
The idea that a four-year degree is the only path to worthwhile knowledge is insane.

You punched out the "chads" in the matrix the telephone number.Push the card into the slot. It will come up as it dials. The card has not been used but is cracked and bent. The cards are not easy to find.
There should be an index with a-z but it is missing

They were state of the art Speed dialers.
WE used them in-house for ordering parts. The part #'s were punched on the cards.

They were mainly designed for speed dialing. (Reportory dialers)(sp?)

This is a nice looking set. their were several versions of cards. I know Dave F. is looking for the Autovon style cards.
