Hi All:

Work on the phone is progressing. The handset handle has now been re-painted - the handset parts polished. The next step is to find a replacement for the handset cord (search not going well - no one seems to have a cord to fit this phone).I may yet re-paint the earpiece and transmitter cup.

Below the "now" photo is a photo of it as it arrived.

Well, there is absolutely no question as to which picture is the before and which is the after phote. Good job.

Wouldn't have thought that housing would turn out this nice.

Yes, I was surprised. I just used bathroom tub and tile cleaner and a toothbrush to scrub it, then wiped off the grunge!

You can usually find the Americanized versions pretty cheap. As I said earlier some have very nice white silk cords. Might be worth picking one up to steal the cord.
