Anyone know how to take the finger wheel off of a dial like this?

Thanks for the help.

IIRC there is a circlip retainer inside the center ring.

That appears to be a plastic "TAP" dial .the window is molsed plastic and has molded tabs to fit into holes in the plastic fingerwheel.Use a thin blade to pry it out.there  might be a notch on the window to make this easier

You can see where the plastic posts go down into the fingerwheel at 3 and 9 o'clock.  Pry gently at those locations.

After the cover snaps off, you'll see the Phillips head screw underneath the number card.

Yes, that was it. Thank you to both of you, and HarrySmith. There was no notch but using a razor blade at one of those positions broke it free (lot of crud) and once removed, the center screw was evident. I couldn't tell if it was the inner or outer ring that came off.

These phones really are cheap. Never took one apart before. All wiring inside is soldered to the connections so taking it apart requires a bit more than loosening a terminal screw. I am cleaning up a cheap repro candlestick that has a lot of crud on it. Three screws on the bottom, one for the stick and two for the dial, and the whole thing comes apart.

Thanks again for the help.

There was no notch . . .

Once removed and cleaned, the plastic lens holding the number card did indeed have notches. They are tiny half circle holes on both sides right next to the tabs at 3 & 9 pm. The holes were filled with crud making them invisible to someone doing a first time removal. Thanks again for the help.
