AE DTMF Pad (model unknown) only issues dialing 5

I have an AE DTMF pad with all the mechanical contacts and tunable coils that is in an ATC Snoopy phone. Unfortunately these pads are scarce and I have an issue with the digit 5. I can not replace it with a WE or SC as it seems the mounting is different.

The issue is ONLY with the number 5 and only occurs if pressed hard. That is when one of the tones fails. The question is why as I have cleaned the contacts over and over again.

I see no other contact being falsely triggered.

I am not new to DTMF pads.

I have gone through all the contacts some were bent out of shape, most have been straightened.. It has the standard contacts like the WE DTMF pads .Those on the sides / top /bottom generate individual tones

Those on the rear serve to mute the ear and activate the tone (makes after contacts on sides)

Is there a possibility that a slight deformation has occured in the dial with the 5 being towards the middle of the most commonly used digits?

It would seem I would have the issue with all buttons in a row or column but this is not the case.

has anyone else seen this?
