Seller Listing Title:  "Western Electric Soft Plastic Dark Beige (Rose Beige) 554 Wallphone - 1956 "
Condition:  "Used"
Condition Qualifier:  " - - - "

Listing Description:  "Offered here is a rare soft plastic dark beige (sometimes called rose beige) Western Electric model A/B 554 wall phone.  This phone was used in Chicago's Lakeview neighborhood throughout it's service life and it is believed it was never sent to a Bell System refurnishing facility.  All dates are consistent with time of original manufacture.  Original colored cord still attached and in good condition for age.  The phone is being sold on an "as is" basis, but it was operational when finally removed from service.  This phone has less color shift or fading than most of this color and vintage.  It does not appear to have been around smokers (which can greatly expedite discoloration).  Phone has the original large non-chromed switch hook.  Known defects are multiple service use scratches, particularly on both sides of the main housing."
