Title: Protel wk8000 no dial tone

I have a protel wk8000 and I'm having a problem where it won't get a dial tone, I'm thinking it might be the dead battery, but I did put it in backwards once So maybe I shorted it? I'm here to ask you guys for help

figured it out, it was the battery
