Some time ago, I found myself with some E-1 handsets that I simply could not disassemble. None of the standard methods worked, including heat, oil, strap wrenches, and prayer. You can see the full story here.

After breaking a spitcup during the effort, I decided I needed a pin wrench. Real Bell System wrenches are rare, and terribly expensive if you can find one. So I made my own, and it worked perfectly. After telling my story, I got several inquiries about how to get them. I made a few copies for those who were interested, got some positive feedback, and no complaints.

There are folks who won't use a pin wrench, and others who are OK with them. No need to re-open that discussion - we've been through it. If you are interested, but don't want to pay the cost of a "real one", I recently found a stash of my originals. I upgraded them with a clamp to keep the wrench tight and avoid slipped pins, and I am offering them for sale. With the thought in mind that a single wrench doesn't do you much good - you usually need to hold both of the parts to be separated - I will send you a pair of wrenches for $60 plus $10 shipping. If you pick them up in Scottsdale AZ before May 1, or later this summer in southern Maine, there is no shipping charge, of course. My email address is in my profile.
