Yes, it's lovely -- Almost as nice as Maureen's Picturephone.  Gee, I don't think I can afford both.  Hmmm, which would I really like to have?

Well, there's probably some interesting history.

Probably seized in the raid of a brothel in 1979.
Annoying new poster.

It's always ashame seeing a good phone turned into a lamb.

Larry
And it would also be a shame seeing a good lamb turned into a phone.

An over-priced parts phone?

And, $35 is a hefty parts phone shipping fee . . .

Okay, now I think I have this one figured out.

It's a 12/21/12 post Myan apocalypse Pyramid 232 art deco impressionist creation for only $653 US, but may not ship to the US (in case if it's not there anymore?).

I am not sure but it looks like it has wheels. The mark of a quality phone in my books.

At least if you strip it for parts, you have a nice piece of firewood to throw in the woodstove... :D

Even us rednecks have more class than that. Maybe hillfolk?

According to the auction "This cool old phone was made by a lifelong phone company linesman worker who gave it as a gift to his friend who was also a phone company employee." Reading the card that came with it you can detect the satire about the Bell "decorator" phones of the early 70's. I assume "NTC" in the card is an independent phone company since the phone seems to be AE/GTE based on the dial.

Another picture adds to this:

Since it isn't injection molded plastic and appears to be a retirement gift spoof.....I think it is kind of neat! No valuable parts were wasted etc....

Well, let's see here, there's an AE dial and hookswitch, a WE handset, a glass phone insulator, a bell from something much older, a network on the back side (can only see part of it) and the base is ?
