I just acquired an early top box from the New England Telephone & Telegraph Company. The box is marked "N.E.T.&T. 1890".  I have it on good authority that the box is a mixture of parts from early American Bell vendors,
Quotethe magneto is Charles Williams style, the bell post holders are Davis & Watts, the arrester looks like Post, the ringer is Williams Abbott

I wondered who got this box.  Very nice.  Isn't that an american electric ringer on that box?

The ringer is a Williams-Abbott and is a later addition to the phone.

Here are a few after pics.  I still need to find the correct hook, period ringer, crank handle, and a matching nut to mount the bell.  I had to use a few modern bolts to hold the magneto in place, but so far everything else was present.

The bells are steel, not brass.
