I got this on eBay a few months ago, It looked like it could be Factory paint, but not told in the auction was a big chip out of the metal...see last pic and many other issues.  Nothing could be salvaged from the phone so I tossed it.

I was looking for something under my workbench and there is the Peking Red 202 shell.  I asked Jan and she said she saw it in the trash and pulled it out and forgot to tell me. ....okay!

I had a pile of parts in the corner of my workbench and this fell together.

As some would say a true Frankenphone, not me as I hate that term.

I must be bored...here is the result.....Doug

To me a Frankenphone is a mishmash of manufacturers. This one isn't.

I'm not a big fan of that term either.

Me, I'd call it a Fantasy Phone. A much nicer description I think.

I call it a (multi-color) D1 will F handset and dial blank.

Well the Ivory handle is gone to another collector, the dial blank removed and the "Pekin Red" 202 is back in the trash. Thanks you for your indulgence...slow day....Doug

How about just going with black on red? Think I would like that more and since the Ivory handset is gone you still have everything you need to reassemble it.

Oh no, please get it out of the trash and put the black handset on it like AE_ suggests. Black on red will look nicer. Betcha it sells!  :)

There's a seller I know of, mixes up three (red, 'white' <ivory>, blue) coloured phones and sells them as Flag Phones. Not my cuppa tea but he is selling them for over $100 each. And they are ABS, not metal/Bakelite like yours.

Or just sell it off with a box of spare parts. I hate to see phone stuff go in the bin and I bet someone will love it.  :)
