Condition:  "Used"
Condition Qualifier:  "Used, very good condition."

Listing Description:  "Here is a nice Mediterranean Blue Western Electric 500. Components are dated 12-1956 and 1-1957. -- The phone has been cleaned and polished, and has a reproduction number card. No rust on the base plate. Leather feet are in good condition, with no tears. -- It has the proper gray, thick handset and line cords. The line cord has a Type 283 4 prong plug. -- Tested and working! Rings,and dials out. Transmits and receives just fine.
The telephone has the proper G3 handset and caps. -- Color code of 57 marked on back of dial. -- There are a few small dings , but over all the phone is in pretty good condition for being 61 years old! -- Dings- Edge of housing, near #5, upper left side of housing below cradle, right cradle "ear."  -- Also, the color has darkened over time, as was the case with these phones, but it is even overall. Any blotches seen in the photos, are just from the lighting when I took the pics. -- There is a slight discoloration on the receiver and handset caps. -- Dates of the individual components are as follows:  Housing- 12-19-1956;  Receiver handle and caps- 12-1956;  Receiver element- 12-19-1956;  Transmitter element- 12-18-1956;  Ringer- 1-1957;  Dial- Type 7C 1-1957;  Base plate- 1-1957;  Network 1-1957"

This is a reasonable quality phone. I place the value in the 300-400 range as reasonable.

HOWEVER: This is a guessing game based on the winning auction price:
My first guess is $225.00. Which would be a nice win-win for buyer and seller.
