Post your "Find of the Month" here.

A "Find of the Month" is a telephone or a related item that you acquired during the month that you are particularly excited about either because of its rarity, the difficulty you had in trying to find it for your collection or the exceptional "deal" that you got on it.

The "Find of the Month" contest is focused on the collection of telephones rather than on their sale for a profit. To be eligible for the "Find of the Month" contest:

- The finder must have personally acquired and actually own the item.
- The item can be acquired for free but it can not be a gift or present from anyone.
- The item (or any of its components) cannot be put up for sale during the contest period.
- Only one "Find" per owner can be in a "Find of the Month" contest.

A Nomination Should Include:

1) where and/or how the item was found.
2) the price & shipping cost.
3) the forum link to the topic discussing the find.
4) the eBay link if won there.
5) and other information of importance about the find.
6) one or two pictures of the item.

Ideally your item would be posted in its own thread elsewhere on the forum such as "Auction Talk", "Flea Market/Yard Sale Finds" or "Collectors Corner" Board. Then you or anyone else can nominate your "Find" to the Current "Find of the Month" thread by posting at least one picture and other details including the price paid, any shipping costs and a link to the original discussion on the forum. It is not a requirement that your find be posted elsewhere on the forum but the more details the better.

Nominations of phones listed in other forum discussion topics, by members that do not own the item but realize it is indeed a "find" worthy of being nominated as a "Find of the Month" candidate, are always welcome.

Please pick your best "Find" to submit for the month limiting your entry to one phone or one "Find" that might include multiple items. If you have already entered for the month and come up with something even better either submit your new find indicating that it replaces your previous entry OR you can enter your new Find in next months contest.

I'd like to nominate my Ivory North I won last week on eBay. I just sat down and logged in and there it was, first phone in the newly listed phones. It was $224 but eBay had a 10% off which helped ease the decision. How often do you even see these phones? You see a Blue 302 more often. I know Larry has one. This had been #1 on my Most Wanted List for awhile now. I am more than happy with it.

Not perfect,  made in 1953....like me.....Doug

I'll enter my 05 17 1949 Northern Electric Uniphone, Bought it off Kijiji for $40.00 CDN or $30.52 USD. With a little spit shine, it will look good as new. It came as is ready to put back into service. It has a 1953 5H dial and 1955 handset pieces.

If I was born in 49 it would be my birthday phone. I came along 8 years later to the day!

I haven't nominated one of my phone in...years? Since there aren't many contestants so far this month I will toss my Walnut, Mahogany (or both) AE 50 into the Running. Bought on eBay for $107.50 and $15 shipping from Mazda_Matt and OldPhoneWorks. A beautiful phone that had an unfortunate run in with the ground or some other hard object but still displays well from the right angle and maybe I will tackle a repair of some sort one day. Most of my other colored AE's are orphans anyway somI have added this one to the stable, my first Mahogany/Walnut AE.

I will throw in my 29.99 (+ $21.20 shipping) 551B KSU - including ring generator. Almost looks new - very clean and works like a champ.

A phone phanatic since I was less than 2 (thanks to Fisher Price); collector since a teenager; now able to afford to play!
Favorite Phone: Western Electric Trimline - it just feels right holding it up to my face!

Time to vote for February's Find of the Month. There are only 5 Finds this month so lets go like the old days with just a SINGLE VOTE, that should make it real easy to pick your favorite, push the button and DONE.

I know, I know, there are no WECo Phones this month.

No, I don't know what you are going to do! Maybe Probably next Month??

A little different this month. The "colored telephones" were the favorites by far this go round and the first nomination for the month and the one in the best condition took First Place.

Congratulations to Doug Rose and his Find of the Month, an Ivory North...Galion...right, Its a "Galion"? Doug did good snapping this one up as soon as it appeared on eBay. Thanks to all the contestants this month and as always, thanks to everyone who took the time to vote.

Terry,
At least you were the first loser.  :)
Jim S.

BTW: Your 2-tone AE50 gives you the perfect comparison between walnut and Mahogany. You have mentioned wanting to see a side-by-side comparison  Your AE50 find satisfied that very nicely.
So, at the end of day,  when you look at your collection, You are still a very big winner.

You die, you forget it all.

Yeah I am pretty sure that is what I am looking at, a Mahogany Back Plate and Walnut Cover and Handset. I still hope to find some more examples to look at to convince myself 100%. There are at least a couple, of Walnut/Mahogany sets within a few miles of me that I will arrange to see in person soon.

Terry notified me I won. I lost track of the thread. It's funny because I voted for Terry's AE 50....Doug
