Phones don't bonk people. People bonk people.

But seriously, I hope the officer is okay. If it was a metal phone it could truly be a deadly weapon.

I sure hope we don't have to register and get permits for our rotary phones!

I guess it wasn't SOFT plastic.

I hope it was not a fully loaded AE80 from 1950. Those check in at 5 and 3/4 pounds.

A 500 would be fine, apperently wikipedia says these were used as weapons in "True Lies" and another I forget.

I'd try a 332, but be scared in case the bakelite got broke on the officers head.

"PUT DOWN THE PHONE, PUT DOWN THE PHONE.."
"now this should take five minutes, where's me screwdriver went now..?"

If it had been a late model Cortelco 500 I doubt it would have hurt much, but if it was an early WE 500 then ouch!

Fortunately these things are rather difficult to disguise as concealed weapons... :P

Many a telephone has been used as a murder weapon.  At least in the movies, anyway.

I'm glad it wasn't a 1940s Stromberg.  Or maybe it was.  Geez, these reporters need to give DETAILS.

Either of my Connecticut phones could easily cause blunt force trauma.
