Title: 302 E/G ???
Post by: HarrySmith on January 11, 2012, 06:31:46 PM
What is a 302 E/G ???
Could not find any reference to it on Paul's site. Since it is in orange ink I am thinking it was a refurbishers mark but I have seen 302 shells marked with orange ink inside with AA1 or H1 stamps.

Correction: Now that I think about it I think the marks were H7 not 1.

It appears to be a standard 302 with a ringer cut-out switch.

It is listed in the TCI document library.

See:

See the 4th item on the list.

Harry,  There's too much info on all the variations to post reasonably on the site.  That's why there are references to the BSPs.

Look in the table on the 300-series page for the 302, then look to the right to find some reference BSP numbers, then look them up in the TCI Library.  You'll find info on the variations.

Hint: start with the first one, C32.502

how strange? I thought the 302 with the cutout switch was the 305?

I stand corrected.  It is the 305 that has the cutout.  Apparently the only difference between a regular 302 and a 302 e,f,g,h is the 3- conductor cord which allows for divided ringing.  I mis- read the entry in the library.

Doug

As in providing the third wire (yellow) which became standard on 500's.  This allowed for divided party-line ringing between ground and either L1 or L2.  That about summs it up  :)
