Any idea what model this is?

Looks like the marking say MD2148 or maybe 2143. There is pictures of the otherside so I'm thinking it might be an intercom.

It appears to be a subset that's been modified once or twice during its lifetime.  The transmitter mount looks like Kellogg parts.

If it's an intercom or complete phone, where's the receiver?

Can you provide a readable photo of the wiring diagram on the door?

Are there any codes stamped into the wood (not painted or inked on) - probably along the door frame or on the back of the set?

I haven't had a chance to see it yet. I'll see tomorrow but the price tag of 100$ seems a bit too steep for my liking anyway. I might just give it a miss,

I've been talking to the owner of that phone I managed to drop the price lower but still a bit too much for me. I havenèt gone to see it since I know at that price I won't buy it.

From what I can now tell this appears to be a military ship intercom of sort. Which explains the MD prefix on the model number and the gray color.
