leich convertable phone question

Hi, I recently acquired a Leich convertable phone. It has what appears to be a chrome finger wheel but its missing its card retainer. The  western electric card retainers are too small. I was wondering if I need to find a Leich card retainer or would an american electric one work. Ive never seen an AE card retainer in real life, are they bigger than western electric ones? Thank you if you can help.

Welcome to the forum.  Leich phones were almost always equipped with AE (Automatic Electric) dials.  The card retainer ring is much different than the WE style.  AE card retainers are not hard to find.  Instructions on removing the retainers are here Link.
