I'm looking for a WE 400A 1A2 Line Card, in case anybody has one kicking around in the junk pile.  It's pretty ironic: Back in the old days we had piles of these taking up all sorts of otherwise-usable storage space.  Now, it appears that I didn't save a single one!

Thanks,

Dave F.

400A...   Well, how long did they make those ?  Perhaps one or two years max?
I think the 400D was out by 1966, wasn't it?

As I recall, the 400D came later.  In any case, there were plenty of 400As still in use long after 1966.

2.06   The 400A and 400B KTUs (Fig. 1) are identi-
cal units with the exception of an additional
diode (CR4) connected on the 400B KTU. This
diode serves to prevent a system from falsely
indicating an incoming call at a station following
             a momentary power interruption.

I never saw any older than 400B.

From the history of markings in SD-69513 it seems the 400D was already ready in 1965.
The card numbers in parentheses are my interpretation of the markings. It is not entirely clear to me how to interpret the markings though.
date:           rev  (card number)
1964-06-08: 2D (400A)
1965-09-01: 3D (400B, 400C, 400D)
1965-09-03: 4A
1966-03-11: 5A, 6B
1966-04-22: 7D
1966-04-12: 8B
1970-02-16: 9B, 10B
1971-08-71: 11B, 12B, 13B
1973-01-11: 14A, 15B

Rereading an article in the BLR it appears to me that the 400D was perhaps issued along with about a dozen new 1A2 features cards 1966.  This is what I remembered when I wrote my first guestimate.

I had started to assemble a timeline of key system features at one time.

If you locate more than 1 I'd be interested as well. I'm trying to have 1 of each type that they made.
If someone has lot's of different KTU"s and looking for one to fill in there collection, and If I have spares I would be willing to trade.
I have interest in non WE cards as well.

Gosh Phil, I thought you of all people would be the one to have a stock of 400As!!  I assumed that all the collectors would be racing to unload all their 400A trash on me, but it looks like these are harder to find than I thought they would be.  In the mid 1960s I literally had dozens of 400A and other obscure KTUs.  Too bad we don't have the ability to see the future.

I have never seen a 400A, (or a 400C for that matter). I suspect that since the A and B were the same, except for the diode, that the A's were sent back, had the diode added, and were re-labelled. Has anyone seen a circuit board marked A with a B paper label?
