Hi Everyone,

A bit of background before repair questions.

The illustration on page vi in AE Bulletin 528 (1949) has always thrown me off.  A die-cast 24A36?  Was the doc in error?  Apparently not, because one I thought was a 51 has wire pawl quieter instead of ratchet pawl silencer.  (Attachment 1)  So these 'die-cast 24A36's' uncommon?  1949 to maybe 1950 or 1951?  Anyone happen to know the date range?

Dial esoterica aside, here's what I'm hoping to get help on.

==============

1.) The shaft that operates impulse cam appears to be bent.  Tweaked governor as best I could, but still makes odd sound on return & will sometimes stick--esp. if dialing any number > than say 3.  (When it works it does go back to zero in about 1 second or so.)

Can this shaft be repaired or replaced?
(attachment 2)

2.) Testing it on a phone = no dial tone.  Impulse springs?

Can these be adjusted?

3.) Shunt springs on RH side.  (if that's correct term) appear to have been modified.  Some of the contact terminals have been cut off and maybe in there for spacers.

does anyone sell springs or other dial parts?

thanks

PS:  What is it with security & photos?  Seriously.  Resize works half the time. The other half I have to create a new file.  What gives?
