W.E. 756C tool.  This is one I haven't seen before.  Can somebody please let us know what it is used for?

It's a punch down tool isn't it?

It is a C.O. (central office) COSMIC Frame wiring tool. There is no use for this tool outside of the Telco.
It does not cut wire or have a spring such as the Harris Impact tool.
Only cosmic frames used these. The cosmic frame was a replacement to the standard MDF. When the administrator knew
how to build (assign) the cables and line Equipment they were great. Today with DSL they suck, no one left that understands
how to correctly administer the Data base side of the cosmic.
It does not cut wire or have a spring such as the Harris Impact tool.

The COSMIC fram came out when the 1A ESS was being installed.

Thanks Phil.  I knew it was an oddball and now I know why.  Somehow, the fact that it is basically useless makes it seem even more collectible!
