I have an opportunity to buy an AE rotary pay phone.  I'm not really into pay phones, but may want to get it to flip it.  It's a single-slot, appears to be in very good shape (I've only seen pictures, haven't examined it in person), has keys, not altered for home use, not known if it works.  Seller is asking $100 firm.  Good buy, or no?  What should I look for on this type of phone?  Is non-altered better than altered?

Unaltered is best!

It should be easy to set-up a regular payphone for home use.

As far as flipping it, I don't how much you can get for a single-slot.

You will need to provide further information such as a model number for detailed information.
The documents for AE single-slots should be in the TCI Library.

A COCOT may be a different matter though.

I called the guy and left a message regarding the model #.  Who knows, maybe I'll get hooked on pay phones too.  Here's the pictures I have.

I feel any rotary payphone is worth $100. I don't collect payphones but I have more than a dozen.
