Boy am I glad I found you guys and this forum!
We have three antique phones (pictured below)
and have just moved from VA where we had an analog copper line
to DC where we have FiOS.  All three phones worked perfectly across the river.

Now:
The WE phone works perfect, rings, and makes and receives calls.
The AE40 will make and receive calls, rang once, but now only buzzes (ringer tries to ring)
The AE50 gets a dial tone but nothing else.

I'll include some inside photos of the AE50, the green wire you see runs from the back of the dial but the other end has never been hooked to anything.
The AE40 has the ground wire hooked to L2.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks and regards,
David

Hi, and welcome.

The adapters usually gives less juice in to the ringers.
When you tell about the ringers, are this with just one phone connected, or all 3 at the same time?
Nice to hear that you may dial out with a rotary, the adapter may be sensitive to dial speed, and tuning of this MAY be the solution.

Thanks for the reply.
So far, I have only connected one phone at a time.

It is better experts than me here, but I have an AE40 on my table, and use it. The AE 40 has been used with several ringers, but it rang once, and it should be a good hope.  It may be as bias spring, keeping the hammer in a rest position, by adjusting this to less tension, it may ring. To little tension may cause tinkling when another phone are dialing on the same line.
