Title: Western Electric 642A Subscriber Set
Post by: Sargeguy on January 11, 2011, 09:09:59 PM
I was bidding on this since it first came up:  http://tinyurl.com/4m75vz9 (http://tinyurl.com/4m75vz9).  It was at $53.00 with 10 seconds left.  I tried to snipe it with what I thought was a crazy high bid, but which turned out to be a fraction of the final selling price.  The seller had a bunch of old WECO wooden subsets, ringer boxes and magneto boxes.  I consoled myself by overpaying for the 334A he had for sale.

How about this one.  I was bidding and watching and in the last little bit it jumped over $400.  Maybe someone can tell me why it went for so much?

Must be something very rare about it to go for $310.55. 195bdwy bought it. Dean is a big time buyer that must know its value. I have no idea myself.

Remember to cut & paste the pictures here for future reference. Maybe I should ask Dennis about that...is there any problem with putting pictures such as this one into the posts rather than just links that quickly go stale?

They are rare, and I did want it badly.  Just not that badly.  I wonder what they were used for?  Two different lines?  Extra loud ringing?
