Title: eBay - Ten Button Touch Tone - Pink
Post by: Dennis Markham on January 13, 2009, 11:05:01 PM
Just thought I'd share one more auction.  I just watched this end.  It went from approximately $175 to the final price of $384.99 in the last 25 seconds!

Wow, amazing how those # and * buttons devalued phones starting in 1968!

Never imagined Touch tones would bring that high a price.

I feel so old.  Push button phones in pink.

I want to crawl into a foxhole.

One of the guys in the phone club was talking about this pink 1500 this morning.  He commented that this phone is one of the first pink sets, as indicated by the gray face plate.

You will see most ten button touch tone phones selling for higher prices for obvious reasons.  I'm not a touch tone guy and do not collect them.  But there a lot of people that do.

Wait till they start collecting vintage early 21st century cell phones.  All the kids will be raving for them in the 2030s, along with antique DVDs and cars that run on gas.

"When I wuz yer age sonny cars ran on what God intended, pure ol' petrol, gasoline!"

"Wow great-grandpa, we learned in school that gasoline was a toxic chemical that was banned in 2022, and that it was like having 3 sticks of Dynamite in your car because it was so explosive!  Mr. Spittle showed us a movie that showed gasoline and it looked pretty scary!"

"Yup, we lived dangerously back in the day sonny, why we even crossed the street without getting permission."

"Whoa!"
