Telephone analyser for sale
« on: January 28, 2014, 08:19:34 AM »
Just found this on the net:

http://www.indiamart.com/sai-telematics/telecom-testers.html

They sell a telephone analyser (last one, at the bottom), that is also for pulse telephones. Any use? Any good?

I don't see the price on that one, but I am seeing one of eBay, which I am eyeing, because it is a BK1045 and fully functional. It is 150.00 dollars so I don't have the money, but if you like it, you should go after it.

Yeah, Arwin, it is in the states.

Though, if you still do go through with it, Denis brings up a point, which might make a big difference, or not. I'm not a telephone man, so I wouldn't know..

Yes.. the electric current in America is very different than the European continent.....any electrical equipment from America will not work in Europe, in some countries of Europe. :)

so pay attention if you buy something from outside of America if you are american resident and the same thing from European resident buyin some electrical Equipment from America.... I'm not sure if i'm clear or ......

Actually, now that I think about it...

Imported phones (for ex. brit.) works on our modern lines, but ring a bit different. So, it is very possible it would work on the analyzer, but I would still double check.

Unless the device is rated for 100 to 240V at 50 to 60Hz, in which case it's electrically universal... :)

That and there's also step-down (220-240 to 110-120v) and step-up (110-120v to 220-240v) transformers, though they don't compensate for the AC frequency, but most electrical devices are DC internally, so that tends to not really matter anyway as the AC is rectified into DC so it doesn't make any difference to the device in question... :)

The question was about the mains power, rather than telephone line power, as you know a US phone works in the UK, and a British phone works in the US, as they're pretty much interchangeable... :)

Ben, if you are patient, the BK 1045s have sold recently on ebay between $30 (best offer accepted on a $50 listing) and $199.

I don't know how to shorten this link: it is for sold BK 1045

I don't know how to shorten this link

Go to TinyURL:

http://tinyurl.com/

Paste the long link into the box with "Enter a long URL to make tiny", press the "Make TinyURL" button, and on the next page, copy the first address that begins with tinyurl (not the "preview.tinyurl" one) and you're done... :)

And in this instance, your long URL becomes this:

http://tinyurl.com/lemurqx

Wow, you are right, I'm trying to keep patient, as there are good deals out there. For example, I got my working Panisonic 616 w/ 5 phones for only 4.99 usd.

Thanks guys. I had forgotten that voltage was an issue. Of course it is, but it is a solvable problem. There are all kinds of converters.

Most of the 2nd hand ones are in the US. So shipping costs are enormous. And they are 2nd hand, so how do I know they are working properly? And they have to travel a long distance. High risk of damage, because it is a more complex machine than a telephone.

I have testing equipment. I have a home exchange, and S&H Impulse writer (with paper tape, so a very limited suply), multimeter. But that all makes testing complicated and troubleshooting even more.

Dial testing is tricky. I have seen some info here on using audacity to test a dial. I may explore that.

A complehensive tester would be nice. So I wondered about this machine. It is new, so there is warranty. It is in India, so shipping costs might be limited.

Here are technical specs:

 Scan resolution : 1 m sec., Display accuracy : 1 digit max
